With 13 years of experience as a theatre educator, Mrs. Hearn has established a record of excellence in theatre instruction, directing, and student achievement. During her tenure in Tomball ISD, she served as the assistant director of theatre at THS, consistently guiding students through the competitive UIL One Act Play process and annual theatre productions. Her students have earned numerous team and individual honors and she has successfully mentored many as they pursued acceptance into collegiate theatre programs. In recent years, she has proudly coached multiple state-level qualifiers and medalists in UIL Theatrical Design.
Mrs. Hearn brings extensive experience in directing, performance, design, and theatre education, with a strong emphasis on cultivating both artistic excellence and student leadership. Prior to her work in Tomball ISD, she taught and directed theatre in Goose Creek CISD and Houston ISD. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Theatre from Stephen F. Austin State University, where she was recognized for her outstanding achievement. While at SFA, she performed in mainstage productions, was a member of The Original Cast musical theatre performance troupe, studied Irish Theatre abroad through Trinity College Dublin, served as an officer of Alpha Psi Omega—the collegiate national theatre honor society, and gained experience across multiple areas of theatrical production.
Through strategic planning, strong organizational leadership, and a commitment to high expectations, Mrs. Hearn has cultivated theatre programs that emphasize excellence in student achievement and artistic growth. Guided by a learner-centered philosophy and a deep belief in the power of theatre education, she empowers students to think critically, grow in confidence, and build a lasting legacy of excellence within their school and community. She is passionate about creating dynamic theatre programs grounded in academic rigor, collaboration, and meaningful opportunities for young artists to discover their potential. Mrs. Hearn is excited to bring her passion, experience, and vision to Tomball West High School and looks forward to building the foundation of Tomball West Legacy Theatre by empowering students to grow, excel, and leave a lasting legacy of their own.
